No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. tv-hero sends nothing about you anywhere.
What stays on the TV: profiles, rules, minutes used, and a week of watch history with titles that apps share through Android's media controls. That history is shown only to the parent's paired phone and, on Home, to the same profile. Guest mode keeps no history.
What stays on the phone: the paired TV's address and pinned key, and your own workouts.
Outside connections, all switchable off:
the phone app's daily update check to GitHub (github.com and its download hosts): Settings → About → Software Update;
weather (2.11), only after you choose a city: the TV asks api.open-meteo.com about once an hour while it's on, sending only that city's latitude and longitude (no GPS, no account). The city search runs on the phone (geocoding-api.open-meteo.com). Settings → Weather & Festivals → Turn Off Weather;
playlists you add to Free TV (2.11) are downloaded by the phone, not the TV. A channel's stream is played by the video player app on the TV (VLC, for example), which connects to that stream itself.
Earn Time questions are built into the TV app and work offline.
